Adventure journal entry 19 – June 21, 2024

The launch of the Brazilian battleship Minas Geraes on 10 September 1908

It’s been a while. I’ve spent the month of June in a lengthy fight with payment gateways.

But yesterday, I sent my online course (tentatively) out into the world. I’ve asked a friend to test it, preparatory to sending it out to the people who first expressed interest in it.

The payment gateway issue almost derailed things. I could not find a way to connect my site to a way for people to pay for it, despite spending increasingly despairing hours on exploring options – including thinking of transferring the whole thing to another platform.

I told Jack of my troubles. But Mom, he said, if you aren’t expecting to make a profit from this, wny not have people pay on an honour basis. They pay if they learned something. (Of course, this is a Gen Z way of thinking about things – I do love the young).

So that’s the plan.

But, on the winter solstice, my course was launched!
